The Last Frontier

. I was able to spend an amazing summer in Alaska working to educate people about the amazing ecosystems that are up there and learned how to look after a some amazing animals. Which is why I wanted to post some pictures. While I spent most of my time working with our resident sea lions and harbor seals, occasionally we would be allowed to help with some of our rehab animals. We were lucky enough to receive two baby walruses at the end of the September. They were found alone up in Barrow Alaska, and they were lucky enough to be taken in by the Alaska SeaLife center. They are really lovely animals, very social and gregarious, if not a bit snotty 😛 . They love company and like to play…

But the basic point is … I got to look after some pretty amazing animals this summer. It was a once in a lifetime experience, that I won’t forget about … ever.

I would also recommend visiting Alaska very highly. It has to be one of the most beautiful places I have ever been filled with incredibly generous people. Do it! Where else could you have this view!

Yes… I did have to get in a plane for that picture… which was pretty awesome!

Go to Alaska. You won’t regret it.
